The Society is committed to enriching knowledge about Islam, encouraging a positive dialogue between religious communities and improving understanding about Islam in the wider community.

The theme of the conference this year is “Religion: Enriching Our life, Guarding Our Destiny”. As always, the aim of this conference is to provide a true picture about the different aspects of Islam and dispel any misconceptions and misinformation about this great religion.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nigel South will be inagurating the conference and the Mayor of Colchester, local Councillors and Members of Parliament will be present.

The conference is preceded by the Islamic Awareness Week and Islamic Exhibition (LTB Foyer; 13th – 17th). The Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Martin Henson will inaugurate the Exhibition in the LTB Foyer on the 13th of February at 10:30am).
